Steiff Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Clarice Plush Toys

As a long time fan of the German teddy bear manufacturer Steiff, I was totally thrilled when I stumbled across this beautiful pair, a plush Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and his sweet friend, Clarice.

They are not big, measuring around 6 inches nor are they inexpensive, but as one might expect from Steiff, they are a quality made product from a company that has been producing beautiful plush toys since the early 1900s. As a bonus, they are from the most enduring Christmas television special of all time.

If you are looking for a heirloom-quality gift idea for a young family this Christmas, you will not go wrong picking this celebrity couple. What is really neat is that unlike years ago when you might have had to find a special retailer to be able to buy a Steiff toy, you can buy this pair online directly from Amazon by clicking right here.

Merry Christmas!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Stamps

What's really funny is that I do not even live in the United States but I still love these Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer stamps as released by the United States Postal Service on November 6, 2014. You will four different stamps with images of the most important characters from the show: Rudolph, Hermey, Santa and, of course, the Bumble who has an almost cult-like following in pop culture.

According to the USPS, Rudolph is the longest-running and highest-rated Christmas special in TV history, which is really not hard to believe since it has been running every year since its release on December 6, 1964.

I see that these stamps are available from right now by clicking here but it looks like they're selling at a premium so if you live in the United States, you might want to head off to your local post office right away and pick them up personally. You can also visit the online office of the USPS at the link shown above to buy your Rudolph stamps.

Wouldn't it be fun to receive an old-fashioned Christmas card in the mail with a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer stamp on it? I sure think so!  I think they would also make a fun Christmas-themed stocking stuffer.

Merry Christmas!

Ugly Christmas Sweater T-Shirts

Well, once again I am surprised but once again I really shouldn't be.  I just stumbled across this ugly Christmas sweater. Ugly Christmas sweater, ah, t-shirt, that is.  What next, LOL? I feel like there isn't much to say. Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. This time, a thousand ugly words though if truth be told this t-shirt is actually prettier than it is ugly.

Happy Holidays!

Monty The Penguin

I guess I am late since I only just discovered John Lewis' advertisements that, with the release of the 2014 video, now include a character named Monty the Penguin.

For fellow North Americans like myself who do not know, John Lewis is an upscale British department store that has been in operation since 1864 and that now boasts 43 stores.

You can watch the two minute 2014 video for yourself here:

And here's the equally lovely 2013 Christmas commercial, called The Bear and The Hare.

The ad campaigns are considered brilliantly done and have gone viral, considered by some to be one of the advertising events of the year. How about it? What did you think? And, perhaps most tellingly, were you feeling for Monty the Penguin?

If you're on Twitter, you can follow Monty's adventures at #MonthyThePenguin or follow us at @WeLoveHolidays.

Merry Christmas!
